Equipment guide

Sound for a wedding
at a finca in Mallorca

A finca is not a ballroom: it has several zones, each with its own moment. This guide explains what sound each one needs, which pack fits your guests and what to settle beforehand.

Updated November 2026 · 7 min read · FØNØY Sound

In a banquet hall the sound is set up once. At a finca it is set up by zone: the ceremony garden, the cocktail courtyard, the dining area and, often, a separate space for the party. Each asks for something different, and most sound problems at finca weddings come from treating them as one.

This guide starts from how we work on weddings: covering every moment with the right equipment and a technician on site. The general technical side (systems, orientation, bass) is in our guide to outdoor event sound.

01 — Zone by zone

What sound does each zone of a finca wedding need?

Each moment of the wedding asks for a different kind of sound. This is what we cover in each:

Moment What it needs What we include
CeremonyEverything audible without the equipment spoiling the look of the space.Integrated sound, wireless microphones and music for each special moment.
CocktailAmbience across the whole area and, with musicians, a good mix.Distributed ambient sound and mixing for bands and live musicians.
DinnerEven background music that still lets people talk.Surround sound with background music, plus decorative and ambient lighting.
PartyPower, bass and light for dancing.Professional sound and lighting, DJ booth, moving heads and smoke or confetti machines.

02 — By guest count

Which sound pack fits my number of guests?

Wedding packs are sized by guest count. A sound technician on site is included in all of them:

Up to 80 guests

Standard Pack: 2 speakers in each zone, 1 wireless microphone, basic lighting in the party zone and an on-site technician.

80 to 150 guests

Premium Pack: sound coverage without dead spots, lighting and effects in the party zone, DJ service and on-site sound and lighting technicians.

More than 150 guests

Full Pack: complete integrated production, high-end sound in every zone, custom lighting and effects design, and band and DJ for every moment.

Prices for each pack are on our weddings page, and every wedding is quoted for the space and what it needs. If you already know you want a DJ, see also the DJ packs.

03 — The equipment

What equipment is used at a wedding in a finca?

For weddings at fincas we use professional PA systems (RCF HDL Line Array and RCF HDL 26-A Line Array), Shure and Sennheiser microphones, a Pioneer XDJ-RX3 with Xone 92 mixer for the party and lighting with Beam and Wash moving heads under programmed DMX control.

The exact choice depends on the zone and the guests: you do not put the same thing in the ceremony garden as in the party space.

Mallorca tip

Ask for the equipment by zone, not a total number of speakers. A system well distributed across each zone sounds better than a huge one in a single spot.

04 — Finca specifics

What should I consider at a finca before the wedding day?

A finca adds conditions a hall does not have. The ones that affect sound most:

Cut-off time

It depends on the venue’s licence, the municipal ordinance and Law 1/2007. Ask in writing before signing; we explain it in our guide to music at fincas: hours and noise.

Special effects

Cold sparks or similar depend on what the venue allows. More in our guide to cold sparks for weddings.

Access and setup

Access routes, the path to each zone and power points shape the setup. If the venue requires it, we do a technical visit beforehand.

Weddings with international guests

We work in Spanish and English and coordinate with wedding planners and international venues.

05 — What to prepare

What should I have settled before booking the sound?

With these points clear, the quote comes quickly and without surprises:

  1. Date and venue name, and whether it already has its own sound.
  2. Approximate number of guests.
  3. Zones to be used: ceremony, cocktail, dinner and party, and whether they are together or apart.
  4. Whether there will be live musicians, a DJ or both.
  5. Cut-off time confirmed by the venue, in writing.

Tell us and we will quote within 24 hours. For short notice: we ask for at least 1 month, although we take last-minute weddings when the calendar allows.

Note

This guide summarises what the wedding packs published on fonoysound.com cover. The final equipment and configuration are confirmed in the quote and, if the venue requires it, at the technical visit.
